The Stinger
(formerly the Tyson Swinger) design is fast becoming a top choice among the
pros. This is a radical looking shoe that will impress any player on first
sight; especially if you are used to pitching with the discount store
varieties. Bring a pair of these to the family picnic and the relatives
won't want to let you play, at least not for money.
This shoe is as good as it looks! Perfect balance, great feel. You hit the
stake, the Swinger will grab it and hold on! Make this great shoe your new
partner on the courts. Fully sanctioned for all NHPA tournaments and
leagues. The Stinger horseshoes are made in Erie Pa of the finest materials
available in America. The Stingers are designed to take advantage of the
maximum size allowed by NHPA sanctions.
The edges of
each shoe are smooth and nicely rounded, allowing the shoe to "pull" out of
your hand with ease. This also helps reduce fatigue and blistering,
which is common when using sharper edged shoes.
Great for
team play when one player throws a flip & the other throws a turn.

When you proceed to
the next page to enter this item into your shopping cart, you will
be prompted to choose quantity, color and weight options. The color
option is pretty basic, but the weight option requires a bit of
explanation...
In the weight
selection box, you will be asked to choose from three selections:
official weight, medium and heavy. The official weight of a
horseshoe is 2 lbs. 8 oz. and the NHPA allows for a variance of two
ounces, making the maximum weight 2 lbs. 10 oz.
If you select
"Official Weight" you will get horseshoes within that range and that
generally satisfies most everyone.
Occasionally, some
advanced pitchers want to specify shoes on the lighter side or heavier
side of that range and that's why we have the other two selections. If "Medium"
is requested you'll get shoes at the bottom of the weight range and if "Heavy"
is selected you'll get shoes near the maximum weight. Obviously, it's only a two
ounce range, so the difference is nearly imperceptible to most people. But
for those who have a preference, those options are there. It seems those
who've been at it a while seem to prefer the slightly heavier shoe.
