The tournament shoe is a professional quality shoe that is suitable for any use.  It is an excellent value and is very versatile.  While its design is a blend of several very popular tournament style pitching shoes, the Diamond Tournament shoe falls a touch short of being considered as a top grade pitching shoe because the manufacturer still applies mass production philosophy when packaging the shoes... they simply grab two shoes off the rack and throw them in the box without weighing them, assuming they are close to the target weight of 2# 8 oz.  However, when you get a pair of Diamonds, if you were to weight them, you may find as much as 3 ounces or more difference between the shoes they've paired up.  Now, for a backyard thrower or someone who pitches only every once in a while, this does not pose a problem... the difference in weight would be almost imperceptible to them.  But for someone who's more serious and trying to improve their game, such a difference would be a huge problem for them... it would be very noticeable and would greatly hinder their improvement.  We sell them as they are packed, so the responsibility for "pairing up" the shoes lies with the manufacturer.
